The Seventh Rincon BeachBoy SUP Race took place in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. With around 300 athletes from the SUP community and locals it’s an event like no other.
During this event Deportes con GPS had the opportunity to provide the live tracking for the Elite Category.
Each Elite SUP athlete was equipped with one of our GPS tracking device for sports. Our system can provide 9 hours of continuous tracking so this should be plenty of time to cover the Beach Boy SUP 2015. The Race began at 9:00am local time. Perfect climate and wind helps the athletes to get a good start.
To provide a better logistics we decide to place a GPS tracker directly to the staff/event Boats. This will help the Rincon Beach Boy coordination staff have a better logistics of where the boats are located in case of any emergency. Do we mention our Live Sports GPS Tracking devices include a SOS button? In case of any assistance required by the athlete the SOS button is pressed for 4 seconds and an alert will be sent to our Racemap system. It will show not only the athlete but also the location.
This event gets together not only athletes but also family members, friends and guests from around the world. Deportes con GPS (Sports with GPS) system with Racemap Technology main goal is to take sports to the next level. Letting the viewers been part of the event in real time! As soon the Elite race starts the event host was able to use the real time GPS feedback to notify the spectators with high quality information. The host for this SUP event was Mr. Pito Rodriguez. We must say this gentleman not only has great host abilities for sports events but also he knows most of the athlete’s backgrounds. Providing this type of tools to the event host will increase the fans interest for the event and obviously the adrenaline!
During the Live Event we had around 700 online viewers tracking the Rincon Beach Boy 2015 live directly from their smartphones, tablets or computers. We have been informed that family members were able to follow their sons and daughters directly from their homes. This provides an outstanding exposure to the event if the Sports with GPS system is booked.

Ryan Helm and Gail Vento have taken out the 2015 Rincon Beachboy SUP Race in Puerto Rico, as over 300 paddlers descended on the island for another classic event. Now in its seventh year, the Beachboy has gained a reputation of being a massive community race, with hundreds of local, Caribbean and quite a few international paddlers of all ages coming out for the show. But in the battle of the pros – where there was $17,000 prize money up for grabs – it was Ryan Helm’s day. The Riviera Paddlesurf team rider claimed his 3rd Beachboy title by outlasting Jack Sauvé and local boy Nick Leason around the 8 mile course. In the women’s Beachboy (Beachgirl?) race, Gail won the elite division in a time of 1 hour 22 minutes, finishing two minutes clear of local Giselle Delgado.
